Took out the LF cam tonight for the first time, just up to the top of Stirling.
Completely different to any other photography I’ve done before, it’s almost meditative. You set up, check the light, frame, focus, select aperture/shutter speed, check light, wait for light, insert darkslide, check light, wait, take out darkslide, take photo.
Really nice feeling though, it’s all done nice and slowly. It also pleases my inner-OCD, as I get to write down everything in a note book, and even have different coloured stickers for the darkslides depending on which state of exposure they are in!
My friend gave me some velvia, so I need to wait for the results after sending them away (£2.50 a negative for development..ouch! Definitely b&w all the way in future!).
I also played it safe and took a few exposures of the same thing at different stops to make sure i got something worthwhile. I’ve got a spot meter on it’s way which should really help.
